CITY GRANTS 800 MANIDA BLOCK LANDMARK STATUS

The city’s landmarks commission has granted landmark status for Manida Street’s 800 block, recognizing the block’s unique character as an architectural gem that accompanied Hunts Point’s early 20th century transition into a residential neighborhood.

“I am so pleased that New York City’s 150th Historic District is the Manida Street Historic District” said Landmarks Preservation Commission Chair Sarah Carroll during the June 23 virtual meeting.
